Department of Anesthesiology and Operation Theatres are pride of this hospital. Staffed by consultants, anesthetic technicians and a team of highly trained nurses, the department has major operating suites in the main theatre complex apart from a minor operating room and an exclusive maternity operating room situated in the maternity block. All the operating rooms are equipped with state of the art anesthesia delivery systems, patient monitoring devices, piped medical gases and vacuum supplies and are paneled with stainless steel wall surfaces to ensure sterile atmosphere.

The department caters to the need of General surgical, Plastic, ENT, Orthopedic, Ophthalmic and maternity patients undergoing minor and major surgical procedures. Patients of all age groups ranging from infants and neonates to elderly are operated on a routine basis in our operation theatres. Three thousand surgical procedures have been carried out since the start and the number is constantly on the rise.

The department houses a strategically placed Postoperative recovery area and also an Intensive / Coronary care unit. The intensive care unit is equipped with state of the art Respiratory therapy equipments, invasive hemodynamic monitoring facility in addition to an efficient team of highly proficient nurses and is geared to meet the challenges of rendering care to patients requiring ventilatory support and other invasive therapeutic strategies.Future prospects of the department are Obstetric analgesia services and a pain clinic which are not too far away.
