Add to this the unhealthy food habits and the lack of adequate exercise, and you have the recipe for a health disaster. On the whole, the quality of our health has steadily declined, despite climbing life expectancy figures, and the ready availability of healthcare "Lifestyle Diseases" a term unheard of some years back, has become the number one health hazard for today's city-dwellers. Healthcare itself has changed, and a tendency to rely too much on technology has weakened the traditional doctor-patient relationship.

It is to such a scenario that GMC Hospital, Ajman's first private hospital, is entering with the promise of a unique approach to healthcare. by bringing together the very best in professional expertise and medical infrastructure, by giving top priority to research, by making quality healthcare accessible to all, we're setting the benchmark for health care in the region.

Thus it is a moment of great pride and honor for me to announce the inauguration of GMC Hospital, Ajman. In the coming years, I envision the role of GMCHRC as more than that of a hospital. It would be an institution that is devoted to excellence and exploring new ideas and solutions to health problems, a healthcare destionation of choice for the local and regional community, and a symbol of quality healthcare in the region.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid AI Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council, U.A.E. and Ruler of Ajman, without whose support and encouragement, this dream of establishing a world class healthcare institution here in Ajman could not have been accomplished
